Hiram Keller. an American actor best known for his participation in Fellini Satyricon. plays the title role in Countryman. Keller is a do-gooder operating out of Jamaica. When a young woman (Kristian Sinclair) smuggling marijuana crash-lands in his domain. Countryman rushes to her rescue. It helps to have at least a passing knowledge of Jamaican culture and superstition for full enjoyment of Countryman. but even those unfamiliar with these elements will have fun on this roller-coaster of a film. Adding to the ambience is a wall-to-wall reggae score. performed by some of Jamaicas top recording artists. Hal Erickson
